Here at Natural Twist Bakery we believe in enjoying everything that you eat, but we also realize how important it is to do that in a healthy way. We want to eat all our favorite sweet treats but want to do so without sacrificing any of the “yum factor.” We make our cookie dough with high quality natural ingredients and never add any unnecessary extras or fillers. We create delicious allergen free cookies that taste as good as they make you feel while maintaining the ability to get that home-baked, fresh out of the oven flavor you love! We strive to create cookies that people will not even realize are allergen-free.
How We Got Started:
In 2009, after a hiking injury, Charlotte discovered (through a very long process) that her slow healing was due to a number of food allergies she never realized she had. Removing dairy, guar gum, cherries, black pepper, food coloring agents and few other random foods from her diet led to a miraculous recovery and changed her lifestyle for good. A longtime pro baker with a certificate in Baking and Pastry, Charlotte’s dream had always been to open her own coffee shop or bakery. After her recovery, her allergy discoveries began to push her dreams toward reality.
As Charlotte removed her own triggers from the foods she was eating and began intensive research on other allergens, she found a lack of great food that was allergen-free. As more and more Americans are learning about nutrition and discovering food allergies and sensitivities, Charlotte wanted to create something that allowed people to have their cookie and eat it too… regardless of allergies! She set out to create the perfect cookie and started with the best cookie she could find: her grandmother’s. After many test runs on her grandmother’s recipe, modified to exclude allergens, Charlotte found the cookie she and her discerning family all enjoyed and Natural Twist Bakery was born.
